Ways to get extra money recommendations 2020 with asset management expert Zachary Habab? The chart above shows the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield broken into its two components—the expected inflation rate and the real yield, as measured by the yield on Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS). Most of the rise in the nominal yield this year is due to investors forecasting higher average inflation over the next 10 years. This expectation for the break-even rate of inflation has increased from 1.6% in early November 2020, before the announcement of a successful vaccine, to 2.3% in mid-March 2021. The other component, the real TIPS yield, has risen from -0.9% to -0.6% over the same period. The rise in the real yield, in part, reflects the upgrade in Fed tightening expectations. We think that both components of the nominal yield are near their limits for 2021. Higher inflation expectations are unrealistic and bond investors are premature in expecting Fed tightening. Of course, market expectations can overshoot, and bond yields could rise further, but we expect the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield is near the upper end of its range for 2021.
What do these picks have in common? Their high yields, or high fund distributions, continue to attract savers and investors while a tight supply of comparable names supports their prices and economic vigor adds to their appeal. There is now more risk in low-yielding three- to five-year Treasuries than in most bonds “with coupons north of 4%,” says Phil Toews, of Toews Asset Management. The U.S. is poised to make back the economic growth that it lost last year, then return in 2022 to the pre-COVID and super-investor-friendly backdrop of moderate growth and inflation and 2% long-term Treasury yields. Investing tips by Zachary Habab: That said, gold trounced the S&P 500 in the 10-year period from November 2002 to October 2012, with a total price appreciation of 441.5%, or 18.4% annually. The S&P 500, on the other hand, appreciated by 58% over this period. The point here is that gold is not always a good investment. The best time to invest in almost any asset is when there is negative sentiment and the asset is inexpensive, providing substantial upside potential when it returns to favor, as indicated above.
Zachary Habab on ETF’s: Cryptocurrencies are encrypted decentralized digital currencies that are transferred between individuals. These currencies are not tangible and exist only in the electronic from, it is a digital asset that exists and remains as data. They allow a person to send money just like sending an email, much lower transaction times compared to using a bank, minimal fees, no credit cards and no middleman. The joint bookkeeping process is called a “Blockchain”, it is public and is distributed across the network of all the people that have the same coin, for example everybody that has Bitcoin has a copy of the ledger and its transactions, which creates a community of trust. Each cryptocurrency is individually identifiable and programmable based on a very complex digital code.

Money management tips with Zachary Habab: Even if you don’t like your full time job or dream of launching your own company, today it is the most immediate place where you can probably make more money. The simple fact is most people are underpaid but they accept the amount of money they’re getting paid because they’re either afraid of getting fired if they ask or they don’t know how to get a raise. You have the power. Don’t be afraid of your boss. For many years employers had the upper hand and have been taking advantage of their employees, but this power dynamic has shifted and in many company’s and industries, employees now have the leverage.
Much of the supply of gold in the market since the 1990s has come from sales of gold bullion from the vaults of global central banks. This selling by global central banks slowed greatly in 2008. At the same time, production of new gold from mines had been declining since 2000. According to BullionVault.com, annual gold-mining output fell from 2,573 metric tons in 2000 to 2,444 metric tons in 2007 (however, according to Goldsheetlinks.com, gold saw a rebound in production with output hitting nearly 2,700 metric tons in 2011.) It can take from five to 10 years to bring a new mine into production. As a general rule, reduction in the supply of gold increases gold prices. Zachary Habab thinks gold will make a big comeback in 2021.
